Perspective is everything in today's markets. Perhaps you remember 1992 and the broad weakness of the US economy and the S&L crisis of the time. I stumbled upon this quote from Time Magazine earlier this week and felt it was instructive to the overly pessimistic aura of our economy's current situation.

Little did we know, that the second quarter of this year would visit upon us a "flash crash", a fifty two week high and the worst quarterly return for the S&P Index in forty years.
